Werewolf online
Villagers versus werewolves: at night the wolves strike, by day the village votes to unmask them. No game master needed, everyone on their own phone.
Werewolf is the great classic of bluffing and deduction games, here playable online with friends, for free and with no sign-up. At the start, everyone gets a secret role on their phone: plain villager, special role or werewolf. The wolves know each other; nobody else knows anything.
The game alternates nights and days. At night, the wolves pick a victim together and the special roles act in turn: the Seer learns a player's role, the Witch can save or poison, the Hunter takes someone down with them if they die. By day, you find out who was eaten, you talk, you accuse, then the village votes: the most designated player is eliminated and their role is revealed.
No game master needed: the site deals the roles, calls each character at night, counts the votes and announces the deaths. Everyone plays, nobody has to sit out to run the game.
The host builds the game in a setup room: 33 roles to choose from (Cupid, Defender, Little Girl, Angel, Pied Piper, White Werewolf, Big Bad Wolf…), number of wolves, an optional Mayor whose vote counts double, and how long the discussion and the debate last. A gauge shows whether the line-up favours the village or the wolves.
Players gather around a campfire in a 3D clearing: you can walk around, whisper to your neighbours and sit back down for the debate. A text chat and the room's voice chat make it playable remotely, and a no-3D mode keeps things smooth on small phones.
How to play
- 1Create a room from the home page, share the code and pick Werewolf (4 players minimum, best with 6 to 12).
- 2In the setup room, the host picks the roles, the number of wolves and the options, then starts the game.
- 3Check your role in secret. At night, when your character is called, act from your phone.
- 4By day, talk, accuse and vote: the most designated player is eliminated and their role revealed.
- 5The village wins once every wolf is dead; the wolves win as soon as they are as many as everyone else.
Werewolf: your questions
How do you play Werewolf online without a game master?
On NoBrainGame, the site is the game master: it deals the roles, calls each character at night, counts the votes and announces the deaths. Create a free room, share the code and everyone plays from their phone or computer, no sign-up.
Is it like Mafia or The Werewolves of Millers Hollow?
Yes, it's the same idea: villagers, hidden wolves among them, nights and votes. You'll find the best-known roles (Seer, Witch, Hunter, Cupid, Little Girl…) and many more, 33 in total.
How many players do you need for Werewolf?
4 players minimum, but it's best with 6 to 12. By default there's one wolf per 5 players, and the host can change that. Some roles are only dealt from a certain number of players.
Can you play Werewolf remotely?
Yes: the room has voice chat and a text chat, with a channel for players standing close by in the clearing and another one just for the dead. Everyone sees their role and acts on their own screen.
